About this event

  • 2 hours

Ponds are an important habitat for lots of wildlife such as newts, frogs, toads and a huge range of insect and plant species. To map and assess the condition of ponds, we are looking for volunteers to help conduct surveys across greater London.

Surveys will take place from June-September. As a volunteer you can choose which and how many 1km grid sqaures you would like to survey and can conduct the surveys whenever suits you.

Once registered you will receive information about how to join the training session.

The training will include:

  • An overview of ponds, their wildlife and the threats they face in urban areas
  • Instructions on how to carry out the pond surveys
  • A health & safety briefing

All help is greatly appreciated. If you have any questions please contact: elizabeth.witcombe@zsl.org

You must be over 18 years of age to join this training event.

PLEASE ONLY SIGN UP IF YOU INTEND TO TAKE PART IN THE SURVEYS AND ARE AVAILABLE TO ATTEND THE TRAINING SESSION IN PERSON.

This Project is supported by the Mayor of London.
